Me time - Patricia Basson - Mood Board Inspiration

Good Day friends...

Here in South Africa March heralds the Autumn season bringing cooler weather and that lovely grey, misty mysterious feeling in the air. The ideal mood for this month stunning and challenging Dusty Attic Moodboard.

I used papers from 13Arts for this Layout. Ray of Dark from the His and Hers Remastered Collection for the background and Forever with You from In love.

I added color to the background by firstly spraying some Black Orchid Silver Spray from Lindy's Stampgang onto the paper that was sealed with clear Gesso. I manipulated the ink with my Heatgun to
form  the puddles resulting in interesting lines of inks and Micas. I also used the Heart Stencil with three different pastes scrapped through it. From Studio 490 Wendy Vecchi, Black and Metallic Silver and Marcasite Silver from The Crafters Workshop. As often happens, some of the lovely texture got hidden behind a flower cluster but at least I know it's there and loved achieving it.

The Resin frame really gave me some headaches! I painted it put it in place and it did not look good. Casted another one, tried to get it as white as possible and glued it in place, just to decide after looking at it from afar the next day that it just does not add any balance to the composition! So, bring out the darker one again, repaint it and voila! it worked... It was painted (amongst other things) with Raven Black Sparks from Art Alchemy and Ink Black Liquid Acrylic. Some Old White Matt Wax and White Glitter was added to the frame as well as the Rose Resin pieces.

I embossed the Iron Garnish and some of the Pine Twigs with my all time favorite Aged Black Embossing Enamel from Stampendous. Just LUV the amazing effect it gives to my chipboard elements...all the Black, Gold and Silver specks, so much detail. I glued down only the ends of the Iron Garnish, allowing me to add my flowers and other elements underneath it. The other Pine Twigs were embossed with Queen Sheba's Silver from Lindy's. I painted the stems of the Christmas Berries with the Raven Black Sparks and the Berries with some white paint. I added Icicle Crackle paste on the Berries for a subtle texture.

The Title and Ribbon Banner were gesso'd. I then used some Grey and Black ink pads on the Title as well as some Clear embossing powder. On the Banner I used two layers of UTEE, I stamped with some black Archival Ink and heat the Embossing again for the ink to flow and give a marbled effect.

I splattered with Black Splash ink from 13Arts, added some white half Pearls as well as Onyx Black Chunky Glitter to finish my page.

That my friends is my take then on the March Moodboard...Have You entered yet...?

I prefer winter and fall,
when you feel the bone structure of the landscape
the loneliness of it
 the dead feeling of winter.
Something waits beneath it
 the whole story doesn't show.

Cherish Hamssa - Anat Weksler - Mood Board Inspiration

 Hello dear friends,

It's anat here,  back to share my Dusty Attic's Moodboard inspired project.

You will clearly see this piece isn't my regular style, it is minimalist, having no layers. I've embraced the challenge and created this hamssa for a lady who  likes the things as "simple" as possible.

Here are the chippies I've used:

A moment Captured - Michelle Van Oudtshoorn - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello there,

My layout today is inspired by the March moodboard

I love the calmness this moodboard portrays and looks so peaceful and beautiful. Here is my layout
I started the layout first with adding strips of black and grey paper pieces larger than the photo. Then I added matt gel to this and went over this with white gesso. Once this was dry I added various blends of ink over this and when this was dry added some stamping. I then adhered the photo and layers of paper behind and stuck down the flower cluster.
The chipboard leaves (DA2897) were coloured with metallic waxes. These were added to the flowers once the flowers were stuck down.
The same wax was applied the delight definition (DA2997)
The butterfly (DA2385) was also coloured with the same metallic wax

For the title I used the wording "a moment" from DA2045 and the word "captured" was made up from the lean ABC set (DA2697) - I did this as I needed the narrower letters for where I was placing my title. The title was first painted with a metallic grey paint and then brushed over with black paint. Once this was dry, I added glossy accents to the letters

To finish off I added some mini art stones mixed with grey ink. I also added some pearl flourishes.
