Such a great day to remember - Patricia Basson

How great to scrap a page again of me and my Son for my Dusty Attic Design Team project...
He is coming for a surprise visit and I have arranged for a family photoshoot for the occasion!!! Meaning I will hopefully have some new and exciting photos soon!

I have used two sheets of paper from the Stamperia collection, Voyages Fantastiques. One was trimmed a little and I handstitched them together with some thick yarn.

I used two Dusty Attic stencils, Mandela and Creative Script. Using Ink through the Mandela one and Distress Ink and Speckled Egg Embossing Glaze through the Script one.

All of my Chipboard was gesso'd with white Gesso. On the Cosmic Swirl I used Speckled Egg Distress Paint from Tim Holtz and Country Maple Paint from Deco Art. I heat embossed with Speckled Egg Embossing Glaze.

I gave the Houses and Hanging Sign a nice thick coat of White Crackle from Finnabair. Once dried and crackled I painted them with the following Distress Oxide Sprays, Frayed Burlap, Pumice Stone and Vintage Photo. On a piece of Pergamano paper I used Alcohol Inks, Hazelnut, Rust, Salmon and Statue Alloy. This I used behind the Windows of the Houses and the Lamppost.

I cut the Decorative Frame in half. I painted them with the Speckled Egg and Country Maple Paints. I then embossed it with an Embossing Folder to achieve the Dots. I gave it a good coating with Clear Rock Distress Crackle Paint, scrapping the excess of leaving paint only in the dots.

The Title was painted with 13Arts Tiger Eye Color Glow mixed with some water.
I also dyed a piece of gauss with Frayed Burlap Oxide Spray. And added some Art Stones and various flowers to the page.

I hope you enjoyed my page and will visit the Dusty Attic On-line Store for the many amazing Chipboard Designs for Sale....

Mixed Media Card set - Anat Weksler - Mood Board Inspriation

 Hello crafty friends!

Anat here today with my take on this month's fabulous Moodboard.

I've created a couple of mixed media cards with shades from the Moodboard and black as contrast.

The background was created with stencil and paste. After drying liquid acrylic paints were added.

The chipboard pieces were primed with White heavy gesso, colored with Impasto paints and rubbed with  waxes.

Here are the chippies used in my cards:

Luggage tags

Fancy trim #15

Jewelry drops #5

Sturt desert pea #2

 Mini monarch butterflies

Diamonds

Happy - Belinda Spencer - Mood Board Inspiration

 Hello Dusty Attic fans!!

It's Belinda here today to share my latest layout inspired by the June Mood Board challenge and featuring some fabulous Dusty Attic chipboard.

"Happy"

Here's a reminder of the stunning mood board for this month. Aren't the colours just so pretty?!

I started my layout by adding some stencilling to the background paper using the XOXO and Confetti # 2 Stencils.

Next I added a piece of gorgeous printed vellum followed by the Fancy Frame # 4. I painted the frame with three coats of white gesso and then added some shimmery texture paste on top. I layered on some patterned papers in the mood board colours followed by a photo of my darling daughter.

I fussy cut some flowers from patterned paper and added those along with the Small Tea Leaves that I altered to match the frame.

Lastly I added all of my embellishments and title. The title, mini tab and word arrow were all painted with three coats of heavy gesso while the Mini Heart Button was painted to match the frame and tea leaves.

Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today! I hope you find some time to play along with the mood board this month too.

Cheers

For we carry the heavens with us - Patricia Basson - Mood Board Inspiration

This months Dusty Attic Moodboard is filled with beautiful Pinks and Purples...Not my usual go-to colours but boy am I happy with how this page turned out!

I used an image that I found on Pinterest added by  Angelika Mitchell Photography.

I used papers from AB Studio, 2 Sheets from Enchanted Flowers. Page 5 - Sadness is my main page and from Page 6 - Fear of the Unknown I punched a border and also used a thin strip on the right-hand side. I used a Finnabair Stencil and Paper Texture Paste and also Cotton Candy Pink Spray from Lindy's Stampgang on the background for added texture.

All of the chipboard pieces were treated with a clear gesso in preparation. I mixed a little Pink Rainbow Color granules from 13Arts into some Paper Paste and applied it to the small Lacey Frame with a sponge applicator. I then cut it in half and placed it on opposite corners of the photo. On the Antique Frame I added Cosmic Shimmer's Lava Paste mixed with Matte Pink paint from 13Arts. I did not mix it properly in order to have different shades of Pink. When heated with a Heatgun it puffs up to a soft Marshmallowy texture!

The Bluebells sprigs I painted with Vivid Green, Matt Pink and Metallic Violet paint, all from 13Arts. And I had to add some form of Bling with the Pink Rhinestones on the Flowers.

I have to admit that I really love how my trees turned out...I decided to use what I had on my table to treat them with. Thus I took some Lava Paste and mixed it with a little Rusty Brown Wax and a tiny bit of Vivid Green paint. After puffing it I also dabbed some of the French Sage Artisan Powder on it and Voila...Very realistic looking Forest Trees...I also layered them in three different depths to create more interest.

On the Monarch Butterfly I added Multi-colored foil. I placed a Translucent Tim Holtz Wing behind it. On the Grass Polls I added Lava Paste, colored with Pink and Green Paint. The Bird Nest was colored with Rusty Brown Matt Wax from Finnabair with some French Sage Artisan Powder brushed onto the wax.
I placed some Tulle between my flowers to replicate the gorgeous Fairy dress in the photo.

The Wooden Fence got a layer of Crackle Accents. Then the same Rust Brown Wax and Artisan Powder. I also touched the Fence, Trees and Bluebell Flowers with a little Old White Matte Wax.

This then is my Moodboard creation. There is still heaps of time to enter the Mood Board challenge yourself for a chance to win one of two $50 Credits to the Dusty Attic website and  it is super easy to enter, just add your take in the comments section on the Dusty Attic FANattics page here. Soft moss a downy pillow makes
And green leaves spread a tent,
Where Faerie folk may rest and sleep
      Until their night is spent.
The bluebird sings a lullaby;
      The firefly gives a light:
The twinkling stars are candles bright,
 Sleep,
Faeries all,
Good Night.
