Hi crafty freaks!
The card for today is the result of the live stream with me at the "Cudna Paczka" group. I had the great pleasure to propose an obligatory element for the 35/52 card - PAPER CURLING - but not some poor curl! No, no... We fold it so much that it "hurts"! Who will take the chance? Have you been bullying paper in this way in your studios?
When I chose the obligatory element, it became clear that the art work would be ephemeral, romantic and airy in its three dimensions. I had to choose the colors well to emphasize these features even more. And I couldn't say how many times the moodboard on the Dusty Attic's blog is being extremely inspiring. Please tell me that you like it as much as I do. Initially, I hesitated to add navy blue elements, but it was this colour that added a character.

I figured out it is a bit of a waste of my time to describe in detail here the work which I created during live stream meetings. These meetings are recorded and you can come back to them at any time and it is a much more honest and accurate representation of the creative process than writing it here. So I refer you to the recording, and here I will only generally deal with what you can see on the pictures.

As a base, you can see paper from the "Love me Tender" collection by Margaret Paper Design, glued with a pearl, juicy, purple frame. It's frayed and stained with vintage polish from Tim Holtz. There is no sewing! - that's right - the first art in ages that I haven't trimmed, because I did it on a live stream and I thought it would be a waste of time for this procedure. Now I wish I had prepared it outside the camera, because I think that this detail would add even more character.
I do paper's curling according to the scheme: I sprinkle the paper with water, wipe it after a while. Thanks to this, it is soft and it is much easier to form it into a roll without creasing, on the so-called smooth effect. I always start curling by leaning the paper on an oval object with a fairly large diameter - e.g. a thick felt-tip pen. Then I do the same using a smaller diameter - a pencil, for example. I like the rolls to be tightly curled at the bottom and wider at the top, so when forming the twist, I make sure that it takes the right shape.
The lower part of the work consists of 13 layers of my successive "ideas". THIRTEEN! Can you imagine? Sure you can - you just have to want it. It is important that these layers match each other in style, colour, but differ in texture. In my case there are: paper, lace, cardboard, sprinkles and 3D droplets. I think it turned out nice.
Mostly my designs are based on chipboard shapes, but not this time. Chippies used are of course from Dusty Attic and this time I used them to enrich the composition. In three different places there is a beautiful openwork border, secured only with a white gesso and gently brushed with wax.
Flowers are a
beautiful bouquet from 49 and Market, and a few dried flowers and two paper ones. Fantastic ribbons from Old Fashion Ribbon are complemented - invariably, I invite you to shop with me. Finally, let me just mention that I also show an imitation of paper creases during live broadcast.
