Good afternoon how are you? Rikki here today to share a little inspiration based on this months Dusty Attic Moodboard.
And with the weather finally looking a bit more wintery, I am going to be sitting in my studio, dinners on in the craft room and get creating, and if your lucky to get some creative time in why don't you give this challenge a go?
Moodboards often feel complicated, more often or not they have a group of colours that compete and can feel like your don't know which ones to focus on. I like to pick a group that goes together as my main focus and then introduce the other colours is smaller portions.
By doing this your helping your main colours pop.
So I started with a neutral background, to introduce my purples as my main group. So with a stencil and my Tim Holtz Distress Crayons, I just scribbled them through the stencil and then smudged with my finger.....
I love this technique because I didn't want make the page wet, especially when your time poor.
To get the metallic waxes to pop I started off with the base of Dulux Grey Chalk paint then once this was dry then I went over with Finnabar Wax Electric Violet and blended with Firebird.
Start off by Electric Violet wax all over your chipboard and the add a small amount of Firebird wax to highlight edges to add your small orange to tie back in with the moodboard.
