Freeze Frame - Julia Ost - Mood Board Inspiration

 Hello everyone!

I'm happy to share my new work for the December DustyAttic moodboard!

This time I have a bright winter canvas.  I created the background for our palette, using Lindy’s sprays, texture paste and stencils.

I love the dusty attic chipboard because it always works very nicely with it.  I covered it with sprays and powder before embossing.  Also, before creating my composition, I used paper elements, flowers and a deer-toy, which perfectly matched my idea!

Hope you enjoy my new canvas!

 Here I used-

Dream - Kerstin Filou

 Welcome creative friends!

The year is almost over and a new and hopefully better year is just around the corner.

I 'm happy to continue my creative journey with Dusty Attic, thanks so much!!   I especially love the nature inspired chippies, they fit many themes, like right now the newly discovered garden pieces

We have winter here now, but especially in the grey dreary time the anticipation of spring is all the greater.

But now to my mixed media layout of today, a real shower of stars 😃  a fireworks  that will for understandable reasons not take place in the night of our New Year's Eve this year.

That is  probably the reason why there had to be so many stars.  I practically exploded the fireworks here using chippies, stamps and stencils, a lot of golden stars in the dark blue night sky.

If you listen to the wind........ - Tina Ollett - Moodboard Inspiration

Thankyou for returning here today. I have my interpretation of this month's moodboard.
I absolutely adore the colours of this moodboard and knew exactly what papers I would use.

It was when I was going through the paper collection of Maja Design's new release "Miles Apart" that I came across a quote from the barcode strip of "Keep in touch", that I knew this was my starting point.

The quote reads:
"If you listen to the wind very carefully, you'll be able to hear me whisper my love for you".
Just beautiful don't you think? So I found my photo to work with this and went to work. I made lots of layers using torn papers from the Maja collection in the tones of the blues and apricot as in the moodboard below. I couldn't believe really how close these colours were.

They are as listed below.

Keep in touch "A"

"Keep in touch "B"

"Keeping Busy" "A"

"Keeping Busy" "B"

I did a little embossing in white around the outside of the background using a stitching stamp. I also added in some texture using white crackle paste and some random stamping in Archival Ink in Watering Can. The barstrip with the quote was cut up and distressed.

I used a number of gorgeous pieces of Dusty Chipboards some you will probably have to look very hard to see but they are there. For me it is all about the layers. So starting off once all my paper layers were down I added in the new release chipboard the "Flowering Vine". I have used the smaller vine from this pack. It was dressed in white crackle paste along with Inka Golds in the colours of mint and apricot.

Another of the new release pieces I used was the Foliage #26 packs.

This was simply dressed with white gesso and a little Rust Paste from the Old Walls Rust Effect Pastes was used very randomly over it.

Next I did a lot of layering using these three pieces of chipboards.

All three of these gorgeous pieces were dressed firstly in white crackle paste and then coloured with Rust Paste in Blue and inked with Ground Espresso Distress Ink. You will see how they were layered in the photos below.

And also a couple of other additions added in amongst my flower clusters are the Broken Bits 9 - Brick and some cut sections from the Wrought Iron fence.

Oh and 1 of the gorgeous keys from the Vintage Keys set .

Lots of lace and leaves with pretty flower pearls and muslin were also added in amongst these layers.

Well that is all from me today. I do hope you have enjoyed this blogpost. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very blessed and safe Christmas and New Year
Can't wait to see you all back here again next year.
Thanks for calling by.

Happy - Michelle Van Oudtshoorn - Mood Board Inspiration

 Hello Dusty Attic fans

Well that is almost 2020 in a wrap - and this is my last post for 2020. My project for today is based on the gorgeous December moodboard:

Isn't this moodboard just beautiful? Here is my take on it:  HAPPY

I have used some of the new releases on my layout - the distressed frames and the foliage. The frames were first painted before adding these to the page - and were added on foam tape in layers.
From there, the flowers were added and layered before adding the foliage under the flowers. One of the foliage pieces was cut - part added to the main flower cluster and the other bits used in the smaller flower cluster at the top right corner, and adding the word from "beautiful" from the wordplay chipboard.
Once the flowers were added, I then added the "happy" title

Here are some more close ups:

These are the products that I have used:

I will be back in January - have a great festive season!

Take care,
Michelle
