PATRICIA BASSON

Hello to all my Blog Friends....

The Moodboard at Dusty Attic this month was simply divine and absolutly my favourite of the year because of the earthy Greens and Browns on it...seeing as Fall is my favourite time of the year.
I had this photo of me from quite a few years ago sitting on a carpet of fallen Fall Leaves, perfect for this lay-out.
The papers I used are very old, they date from when I started Srcapbooking! I do not know from which company they are. I did not add any Mixed Media products at all, thought the papers are beautiful as they are and I rather spend time treating the Dusty Chipboards and doing some hand stitching for extra interest....

On the Notepad Edge Frame I used Art Alchemy Antique Brilliance Wax, Lucky Emerald and Red Amber.
On the Ornate Circle Frame the following Rust Effect Pastes, Dark Olive, Green-Grey and Rusty.

The Branches also got a Wax treatment, this time with Bronze Age, Aged Brass and a little Lucky Emerald.

The Bird Nest was painted with different Brown and Raw Sienna  Acrylic paints...I layered all the chipboards and papers to create a lot of depth on this page.

The Ivy Flourish was painted with Greens, Brown and Beige paints. Also sprayed Ethereal Emerald and Treasure Island Turquoise Moon Shadow Mists from Lindy's Stampgang.I then added some glass chips and topped it with clear UTEE. Sprayed some more Mists that pooled in the cravices...

These painted Branches got a coating of clear Crackle Varnish. All the flowers are from Petaloo.

Feel welcome to partake in our monthly challenges and stand a chance of winning one of two $50 gift vouchers to spend in the Dusty On-line Store.

When autumn dulls the summer skies,
And paler sunshine softly lies
Upon the brown and fallow lands:—
As fairy artists come in bands
To paint with brushes dipped with frost:—
They pay with gold, for verdure lost...

Through the Trees - Kavitha - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello everyone,

Kavitha here today to share my mood board inspiration project. How gorgeous are those colors this month?.Just before autumn, the leaves are getting darker and the climate is warmer, I adore this season and all its colors.

I tried to create a warm atmospheric layout in forest fairy theme using all gorgeous green and brown shades form the mood board.

The large "Leafy frame set " is cut up into pieces and used as branches all around the layout.I have also used some of my favorite foliage's amongst the flowers

The drift wood pieces and wood slices from the new release perfectly fitted my layout, how gorgeous and natural they look?
I have used tones of flowers for my layout including the gorgeous "dusty in bloom" grassy knoll

Products used:

Freeze Frame - Mary Catt - VIDEO TUTORIAL (Mood Board Inspiration)

Hello dears!

Today I'm back and I have a new layout and I
have also prepared a video tutorial to share with you.
My layout is based on our beautiful September's moodboard.

The beautiful
photos of the board gave me inspiration to create a page in green and brown
shades with an autumnal feeling using some of our gorgeous chipboards.

Some detailed
photos...

I used a Maja Design paper for my background. I created some texture by
applying

paper texture paste through a stencil and then I heat embossed the pattern. To
add more interest I made some more stenciling with the ''ABC Stencil'' and some
more paper texture paste. Then, I added color with some sprays.

I continued by embossing
the chipboards from the ''Drift Wood #1'' and the ''Drift Wood #2'' with the
Lindy's Gang Bratwurst Brown EP.

The title from the ''Mini Captions #10'' and the ''Wordpl@y #3'' with
the Lindy's Golden Angel Wings EP. Then I randomly rubbed a little White Gold
wax.

I colored the ''Wood Slices'' chipboards with the Archival Coffe ink.

When everything was glued down I added some art stones and glass beads
and made some splatters with white gesso.

You can watch the
VIDEO TUTORIAL
with the procedure here.
