Celebrate - Ankarika Craft

Hi there!

A male project is a challanging experience! I haven't yet had a situation where I immediately know what I'm going to come up with when such an order comes in. I have a trick for this, which so far has worked out great. I ask my lovely customers about the likes and hobbies of the gentleman receiving the card. Someone would say I'm complicating things for myself, but for me it really is making it easier. It takes me a while to figure out how to use the information I've gathered, but then the work just rolls on by itself. So, as you can guess, this time it was a gentleman with a love of motorbikes. Come on, I'll tell you more!

As a base I used the papers from the "Breeze of Dreams" collection from Margaret Paper Design. I cut out small elements from the cover of the collection: a woman with suitcases, kittens on chains and a motorbike. I glued these small elements with cardboard underneath for a 3D effect. The edges of the base are stitched on the machine with a rather chaotic stitch, and are ragged and distressed.

I was asked to put a speed meter with an arrow pointing at 40, and I managed to incorporate that into the gears and the other elements. I think it came out quite nicely.

All the chipboards apart from the motor is treated with black gesso and then finished with silver wax in varying intensity. The motorbike, on the other hand, I darkened the edges with brown ink and also finished with silver wax. All the elements are layered, additionally glued from underneath and overlapping each other, creating an extremely precise 3D composition. Can you see this cool spider

I'm very curious to know how you like the work made almost entirely from cardboard shapes. I know one thing: I probably wouldn't be able to do the project anymore without these wonderful additions from Dusty Attic!

Gentlemans card and box - Mariusz - Scrap Hobby

Hello everyone!
Today I have another inspiration for you with unusual Dusty Attic chipboards.

This time I made a gentleman's card and a box for it.
In a rich floral arrangement you will find a clock #Clockworks Small DA1749

In addition, I expanded the composition with chipboards with gears

and

I added some paper elements and that's how the men's set was created.
What do you think about this combination of colors and accessories?
Have a nice day!

Give it your all - Kim Arnold

Hi everyone! Some more boy layout inspiration today from me.

I have created a teenage boy layout documenting my son’s first part time job using lots of industrial Dusty Attic chipboard and I will take you through what I have used and what techniques I applied.

Starting with the Industrial boarder #1, I have used a dark grey wax to give it a metallic look.

I love the various Industrial Clusters that are available and for this layout I used all of the bits and pieces that come with set #8, but let the actual cluster piece for another layout.

I finished each of the elements in the cluster with copper and vintage gold waxes, so that when the various pieces were layered over the boarder piece I was not layering the same coloured pieces. I layered up these pieces over the border piece to give it dimension and interest.

I then coloured the industrial globes using the same dark grey wax as the border piece for the top of the globes and the vintage gold wax on the filament. For the edge of the globe I used the sparkly prima paint in copper and then touched bits of gold wax on it once the paint was dry. I added the three globes on various places on the border piece so it looked like the globes were hanging from it.

Don’t be afraid to mix up some chipboard pieces with other embellishments. For this layout I have mixed some of the small chipboard elements in with sticker, diecut and wooden embellishments to create an interesting cluster at the bottom right of the photos.

I hope you have a chance to get some creative time in soon.

Happy scrapping
Kim x
