FULL Throttle - Deb Stephens

This masculine inspired layout used lots of fantastic Dusty Attic chipboard to record the memories from our trip away and Father and Son Memories on the quad bikes.

2 Industrial frame squares DA3362 were embossed with a combination of gunmetal embossing powder and Distress Foundry wax to give a contract between shiny and dull.

DA2878 Mini tool Set #3 was painted and clear embossed and then Foundry Wax was applied.

Are they not jut the cutest tools?? (Am I allowed to call manly tools cute?) Anyway.. I also had some DA1194 Tyre Tracks small, so I used some super chunky embossing powder on it.

I also used some DA1933 Gauges and chipboard title Word Pack #38 DA1620 and painted and embossed that.

Finished off with a few Screwheads DA2879.

Good times with Friends - Rikki G - Sketch Inspiration

 Good morning how are you ? I am here today to share this month's Dusty Attic Sketch Challenge  and since I had some of the Moodboard papers on my desk I decided on combining them once again. Don't forget you have double the chance  to win if you enter the two challenges, so why don't you give it a go?

This sketch works out great if you have little bits of chipboard left over, so the Skeleton Clock I chopped up and had a quarter of it leftover......

The Square Geo is perfect to chop up and scatter around the layout and you will still have leftovers for another layout.

The Vine Border is also cut into smaller pieces from a previous layout.

You can layer elements of the Geo Panel to add interest and tie your layers together.

I hope this inspires you to have a play and use all your left over chipboard, till next time,

Live your Best Life - Michelle Van Oudtshoorn

As I write this blog for my post, it is a magic day here in Christchurch, NZ. It's nice and warm and there is some sunshine - which hasn't been present much through the last few weeks - we even had snow at the start of October. 

I have created a masculine layout to feature on the blog today. 

This is a photo of my son (a rare photo I might add, as he doesn't like his photo being taken).  I first prepped the paper with matt gel, and adding some strips of paper, adding some green water crayon, and blending this and then rubbed on some white gesso here and there. All chipboard pieces were first dabbed with black gesso. I then added various colours of Alchemy Metallique paints to the chipboard once the black gesso was dry. I dabbed on the paint colours sporadically, until all the pieces were covered in different shades of metallique paint colours.

I used the Industrial Circle Frame (DA3361) for the frame of my photo - this one I mainy stuck to green and brown paint. Underneath the photo, I used the Industrial Square Frame (DA3362). This I cut at an angle in half, so that I could add this under the photo and circular frame - keeping the pieces apart, and then added some broken bits DA3370, and an industrial cluster DA3378, before adhering all of this to the page.

I then built up the cluster with cogs and bolts from the layered bolts (DA2880) and the new mini cogs (DA3364). 

I added the title "Live Your Best Life" and then added some green and honey coloured oxide inks around the chipboard pieces on the layout.
