Snapshot - Helena Johannson

Hi!! Helena here today, sharing a page with lots of gorgeous Dusty Attic chippies. I got my hands on new Prima paper and flowers recently, and got inspired by one of the patterned papers for this page (a me-page!). The hanging birdcages, feathers and other things on the paper, got me thinking of the beautiful Ornate Pendants! They went perfect with this paper :)

I have painted all the chippies white, and on a couple of the pendants, I have also embossed with bronze embossing powder
(goes so well with the paper and flowers!).

Besides the Ornate Pendants, I have also used a Corner Swirl #1 and Ornate Frame #7. I divided the frame in two pieces, and then tucked all three chippies under the photo. I have then layered lots of flowers, painted them with white gesso, sprayed some pink mist here and there. I finished the page with pearls and bling.

So Pretty - Helena Johannson

Hi! Helena here today, sharing a card I made.

One thing I love about Dusty Attic (and there are many things I love about DA!!) is that you can combine practically any chippies! When I create, I keep my Dusty Attic chipboard in large boxes, but I also have a little box on my desk, where I put the smaller pieces. When I started with this card, I decided to use an arch from the Arch Window #2 and an Indian Arrow. Maybe not the first chipboard pieces you would thought of to combine, but they went perfect together!

I painted the chippies white, and then misted them with gold and pink mist. From the Indian Arrow you only see the feathers, of course I had to put some flowers on the card :)

I finished my page off with some Dusty pearls. Love these!!

Magic - Helena Johanson - April Mood Board Inspiration

Hi everybody! Dusty Attic has another stunning moodboard this month, and since I love purple this was extra special to create with.

To create the background on this page, I simply painted with clear gesso and then used mists, white gesso (mixed with some water to make it thinner) and embossing powder (purple) from Colour Blast.

Here's the moodboard for this month:

And here are the Dusty Attic pieces I used:

Ivy Corners #2

Ornate Frame Set (I used the smaller piece).

I painted all the chippies with white gesso, and then I used embossing powder to get both color and structure. For the frame I used the purple powder from Colour Blast, and also bronze powder. On the Ivy Corners, I used light blue powder on the leaves, and also some bronze powder, just on the edges.

I also used some purple embossing powder on some of the Dusty Attic flowers (Dusty in Bloom, Evening Blush).

And here are some close-ups for you!

Best Day Ever - Helena

Hi there! I am so very happy for staying on this amazing team for another year, and I just can't wait to continue to create with all the amazing products the boss, Jen, is designing. I'm sure you have seen the fantastic new release on the web site. I am in love with all the stencils, new titles, pendants and more!

Today I have a wedding layout to share with you. It's from my sisters wedding (more than 4 years ago, but I still have photos to scrap!). I decided to use lots of reds and blacks for this page. Red flowers and black chippies - perfect color combo!

Dusty Attic products used:

Monarch Butterflies (DA0819). I soaked two of the smaller butterflies in water, then divided the wings a bit. I decided to use these raw, to go with the craft paper under the photo. They got touched by some white paint in the end though.

Leaves #2 (DA1342), painted with Dusty in Colour, Soot.

Mini Captions #8 (DA1387), painted with Soot.

Ornate Pendants #3 (DA1366), painted with Soot and Clear Crackle Varnish.

Vintage Frame #3 (DA1352), painted with Soot and Clear Crackle Varnish, also embossed with silver.

Stencil and mediums used:

Circuit Stencil (DA1322)

Clear Crackle Varnish (DA0900)

Dusty in Colour, Soot (DA0925)

Texture Paste (DA1218)

Oh, almost forgot to share some close-ups! Here they are:
