Leave Footprints... - Adri Du Preez - Mood Board Inspiration

 Hello everyone!

This is my layout inspired by the beautiful April mood board using a lot of stunning Dusty Attic chippies.

In August 2019 my daughter and I had the incredible opportunity to visit the West Coast region to see the spectacular wild flowers in bloom. It was amazing.  Every turn in the road paints an unforgettable picture of daisy-filled valleys, eye-catching succulents and the roaring Atlantic Ocean. Sweet moments I will cherish in my heart forever.

Here is the mood board.

and here is my layout.

This is how I treated the chippies.

All the chippies were primed with white gesso.

I painted the edges of the polaroid frames, title, seagulls, mini skeleton fish and drift wood with Americana Acrylic Paint in Slate Grey and Grey Storm. I inked the edges of the drift wood with Black Soot Distress Oxide.

The lighthouse was first covered with coarse gesso which gave the walls a lovely textured look.  Once dried I covered it with white acrylic paint. I then dabbed grey and brown ink on the coarse parts to make it stand out more. I inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide.

I painted the mini jelly fish and crabs with Americana Acrylic paint in True Ochre and Georgia Clay and dry brushed with white acrylic paint.
The sand dollars were colored with Distress Oxide in Iced Spruce and Black Soot.
I inked the fish with Vintage Photo Distress Oxide.

The seagrass and seaweed were painted with Americana Acrylic paint in Pansy Lavender, Sour Apple, Arbor Green and Peaches 'n Cream.

The ship wheel and anchor were painted with Americana Acrylic Paint in Traditional Burnt Umber, True Ochre and I dry brushed with white gesso and lightly rubbed with Art
Alchemy Wax in Rich Copper.

The urchin shells were painted with Americana
Acrylic Paint in Plantation Pine, Sour Apple, True Ochre and white acrylic paint and the sea stars with True Ochre and Georgia Clay.

A close ups of the flowers.

These are the Dusty Attic chipboard pieces that I have used.

Thank you for visiting the blog. I hope you find some time to play along with this beautiful mood board.

Happy crafting.
