I thought these colours where perfect to put with a photo of my beautiful granddaughter Amelia.
I found some paper that had a great blue wood grain but it was a bit pale and not as vibrant as I would like. I used clear crackle paste and painted the pattern of the wood grain so that it would add texture to the page. Once dry (tip: leave to dry naturally as drying with a heat gun doesn't allow the crackle to develop properly). To add a more vibrant blue colour, I added Lindy Stamp Gang Magicals in bright blue and sprayed allowing the water to flow following the wood grain pattern.
The base of the main textured area is large pieces of tissue paper stuck down with more clear crackle paste. Once dry, using a variety of Finnabair alchemy paints to paint vertical strips to blend the tissue paper. I used a Tim Holtz oxide ink to add a rustic look so that it wasn't too shimmery with the alchemy paints.
I finished with stiffened gauze that was coloured with DA Denim paint, painted chip board layered under a photo mat. To blend in, I flicked various paints over the main embellishment area.
flowers were spray various complimentary colours with Lindy Stamp Gang sprays and added to the layout. Frame and words were added and a light blue gold paint dabbed on the edges of flower petals, frame and words to add a grungy look.
I hope you enjoy my layout and I welcome your comments on my blog.
