This Fills my Heart

Well I must say that this moodboard had me challenged! While I loved the colours they didnt fit with the image... So when I rummaged through my stash I either had the perfect paper... Or the perfect Pic... Not both!! In the end I think that it came off ok.. Thanks to Dusty Attic for really pushing me out of my comfort zone this time.

So with any great project I began with colouring my embellishments. I really had to work out which ones deserved prominence in this layout. I added extra dimension to the pale colour I used by adding a layer of Dusty Attic Crackle Varnish.

I primed my background with some Clear Gesso and used a TCW Stencil to apply some Tacky when Dry medium to. I wanted to add some actual sparkle to the Fab AB Studio background and used Guilding flakes...

Once I brushed off all my flake I used a Dusty Attic Stencil and a sponge to push it into the background a little. I didn't want the gold to overpower the project..

Once the paint was dry I added some colour with Distress inkpad and some sprays. I knew the colour would re-activate and this was the effect I was after. I wanted a milky background with a hint of coral and shimmer... How did I go?

I used a metallic paint to colour my title and again... a touch of sparkle, this time with wax. I did a plain emboss of the Cosmic Swirl. It was too pretty to alter too much so I kept ot simple... It matched my Junior Bridesmaids anyway!!

Here you can see the LEAP! Yep, bold and metallic... but purple!

Ironically it is my favourite colour but I just cannot create with it!

Love Always - Adri Du Preez - Mood Board Challenge

Hello everyone!

Can you believe April is almost over? I hope you all had a very blessed Easter.

Winter is coming, and although we usually have a fairly warm climate in South-Africa, the winters can get pretty chilly! Perfect for creating!

Here is my layout inspired by the beautiful April mood board. Check out the Dusty Attic blog for more inspiration.

This is my daughter on her wedding day. It was such a wonderful and perfect day. Every time I look at her wedding photos I am overwhelmed by the beautiful woman she has become.

This is how I treated the chippies.

I embossed the title as well as the word disk with Zing Lavender embossing powder.

How absolutely beautiful is this Decorative Frame. I embossed the frame with Ice Enamels Relique embossing powder and then dabbed with gold and white acrylic paint.

I covered these cute bird houses and the foliage with Lilac acrylic paint and randomly dabbed with gold and white acrylic paint.

When everything was glued down I added beads and splatters with white diluted white gesso and black ink.

Sweet Memories - Tina Ollett

Hello and welcome Dusty friends. Tonight I am back to share my project for April. This project was inspired by the Maja Designs moodboard for this month. Gorgeous teals, blues and browns. I did think of course about doing something beachy but then I came across this very cute photo which changed my mind immediately.

This is "Sweet Memories".

For this project I have used the Vintage Summer Collection of papers from Maja Designs. I decided to use them by layering two Monochrome papers below a gutted piece of patterned paper. I have also done lots of distressing and some colouring using the Dusty Attic Oceania acrylic paint.

My assortment of Dusty Attic favourites started with the Window and Shutters. I chose to use only one shutter on this project. Along with the windows and shutter I used the Picket Fence and broke it into 3 pieces. I also used another big favourite, the Mini Chains and of course the Laurel Sprigs. There really is something about this piece that I absolutely adore. So I used the whole packet of sprigs for this.

All of these pieces were dressed in Distress Ink Walnut Stain very randomly to start off. I then added in some white gesso and then more ink. Once the ink and gesso were dried completely I add a little Oceania acrylic paint to give a patina look.

I used the pieces of picket fence to add layers amongst the distressed paper layers. I also did the same with the Laurel Sprigs.

I also added in some gorgeous 49andMarket Botanical Blend flowers in an assortment of colours and a little distressed muslin. I have also added in some random stamping on my background using a new 49andMarket.

You matter to Me - Mary Tzalla - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello dear friends!

Today, I'm back with a new layout based on our gorgeous moodboard.

I loved the fresh and so vibrant color combination and I tried to use them all. I made a vintage romantic layout with lots of beautiful chipboards and my favorite 49 and Market flowers and papers.

For my background I used the Paper No 5 from the 49 and Market Vintage Remnats collection and I created texture with Finnabair icing
paste and a stencil. Then, I added color with a Lindy's spray and made some random stamping.

Next, I painted the ''Ornate Frame #7'' and the chipboards from the ''Baroque Flourishes'' with the Finnabair Golden Moss acrylic paint.

The clock from the ''Mini Clock Faces'' and the ''Elegant Swirl #14'' were also painted with
the Finnabair Rustic
Brown paint.

I used the Finnabair Sparks Ginger Magic paint to color the chippies from the ''Flutterbies #3'', the ''Mini Bird Cages #1'' and the title ''You Matter To Me''.
