There's Magic in the air - Pascale B - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello Sweeties,

Today I'm up on Dusty Attic blog with a new layout inspired by the October mood board. I used a photo from the talented Christina Fisher. Follow the link to look at her magical photos.

Here is the moodboard.

First I add two designs on the background with two stencils and paper paste. When dry, I colored the background with inks.

I primed all the chipboards with white gesso. I colored the Pumpkins with Toger Orange and Burnt Sienna liquid acrylic.

I colored the Foliage #22 and #27, the Swirly Vines #5, the Tea Leaves with Advaocado and Umber liquid acrylic. I added bronze wax on some of them.

I colored the flowers and change the center.

To finish, I added some glitter.

Greek Island - Patricia Basson - Mood Board Inspiration

Good Morning on this lovely Tuesday to all my Blog Friends...

Today I am sharing with you a fun project I created for the September Moodboard Challenge at Dusty Attic. Seeing as a few of my Facebook friends have been spending their Holidays on the Greek Islands and have been sharing the most amazing pictures with us, I was inspired to use the Dusty Attic Moodboard colors to create my own little getaway, using a door that I have had for ages and never knew what to do with it. Now I can imagine myself walking through that door onto my own little private Greek beach.

All of my Chipboards were primed with Gesso. On most of them I used Crackle Paste, Distress Grit Paste and Paper Texture Paste to add texture and dimension. The Lighthouse and the Oars I painted with Tim Holtz Distress Mica Stain, Iron Gate. The different Texture Pastes all reacted differently to the ink giving amazing colors! I also added random Sterling Founder wax adding some gorgeous shine.

I used a light Blue acrylic paint to color the Moon by Nuneka and the Decorative Panel. I wiped some of the paint off with a wet wipe to achieve a more weathered look. I cut the panel in half and placed it in the door panels, a perfect fit! I colored the panels with Decayed Mica Stains for I found the plain white background just too boring. I also used Crackle Paste and Paper Paste on the door together with pieces of the Mini Brick Wall hoping to achieve a wind and sea beaten look. The sides and roof I painted with Cobalt Blue acrylic Paint.

I painted the Old Wooden Fence with the light Blue Plaint and embossed it with two embossing powders, Blueberry Speckle from Ranger and Ice Age from Cosmic Shimmer. I glued the one end to the door steps, let it dry completely and then bent it and glued it into place on canvas board. The Starfish were painted with Indian Turquoise and Raspberry paint from Stamperia with a little Purple watercolor.

The Flowers, Tree Stump and Swirly Vine were painted with my watercolor set from 13Arts using Green, Yellow, Pink, Purple and Brown. I also used a little Crimson Liquid Acrylic on the Flowers. The Wild Grasses got some Glossy Accents on them. The Planter Pots have the amazing texture from the Paper Texture Paste. I painted them with Brown watercolor and they looked amazing...until I placed them on the steps and found they looked totally out of place! I then gave them a light wash with White paint and now they look absolutly beautiful. I 'planted' three small Wild grasses in the Planter Pots and combined them with a Pot Plant, a Hanging Pot Plant and a few mini Pot Plants to complete my garden.

I was lucky enough to find the perfect Washi Tape in my stash to stick on the side of the steps! I used mini Art stones sprayed with Crème Brulee Cream Spray from Lindy's Stampgang as sand on the canvas. I added some Wood Slices, simply wiped with a little Gesso and a Prima Flower Vine as added interest to the scene.

The Anchor and Door Handle Plate I painted with Brown, Orange and Blue paints. I used Rust Powder and Rust activator to achieve a rusted look and highlighted the texture with a little Light Blue Plaint.

Using the Indian Turquoise, Raspberry and a little Purple water color again on the Gecko and the Flutterbie... The Flutterbie also got some Glossy Accents. This little cluster is made up of the Tree Stump and Grass, Swirly Vine, a Gecko and A Flutterbie.
