Soul Happy - Kim Arnold

Hi everyone! I love the foliage available from Dusty Attic and the best part is you can customise it to any colour combination you want.

I have made this layout of an older photo of my husband and I wanted it to include floral elements, but not be too girly so I used a beautiful Dusty Attic chipboard title, the mystic frame, holiday spray foliage clusters and butterflies. I will take you through what I have used and what techniques I applied.

For this layout, I decided that I wanted to make some of this foliage look like it included some golden wattle as that would work well with the colours I had chosen. So, I painted the berries up yellow and I think it shows that you can make foliage whatever you want – even though these foliage items are meant to be Christmas themed! The leaves have been finished with a variety of inks. I have built up the foliage clusters by laying the finished chipboard over laser cut and acetate foliage from 49 and Market.

Holiday Spray

I painted the mystic frame with gold mica ink, and I love how this works with it laid over the foliage so it looks like the swirls and the foliage are integrated together.

For the title, I painted it blue and then touched the edges up lightly with a bronze wax. For the main word I finished it with dimensional magic so that it stood out more. I then layered the title over the “arms” of the mystic frame so it really stands out.

This makes my Soul Happy

I then coloured the butterflies with blue paint (the same as the title) and then sponged white paint over the blue. I then finished the butterflies with some sparkle.

I hope you have a chance to get some creative time in soon.

Happy scrapping
Kim x

Life Documented - Michelle Van Oudtshoorn

 Hello

A new month, and that means a new project .... yay! But time sure is flying - almost half way through the year, it's crazy!

Here is my project for June:

I have used papers, lasercuts and rubons from the 49 and Market Vintage Artistry Serenity collection to create my layout. I have used the mystic flourish (DA1747) and mystic frame (DA1745). I have coloured these using two different oxide inks to get the colour I needed. I have cut a part of the frame so that I could use one of the small flourish elsewhere.
I then lay down the pieces of chipboard first to see where I wanted to place then. Then I added the rubons before sticking down the chipboard pieces. The photo was then adhered with foam tape over the round part of the chipboard.
From here, I started adding the flower clusters and laser cut pieces, using foam tape to create dimension.

The title one of three titles in a new release word pack #55 (DA3409). This was coloured with a Kaisercraft gold stamp pad, and adhered this to the flower cluster.
These are the chipboard pieces I have used:

Thank you for visiting the blog today.

Hugs,
Michelle

Memories - Mariusz Gierszewski - Mood Board Inspiration

Today, based on Mood board inspiration, I have prepared a layout full of Dusty Attic chipboard.

Mood Board

I had a lot of fun creating it, but it was also a bit difficult for me because the last layout I did was probably a few years ago.

I hope you enjoy my work today and I'm signing you up to do some work for yourself.

They are : Mystic Flourish and Clockworks small which I have left in their raw state colour, Federation Frame Set that I have coloured brown and then added one of the Mini Tags #3 BLACK as a title for my page.

Altered Clock - Heather Woodall

 Good morning

This time I decided to do something other than a scrapbook page. I've had this clock for a little while so thought it would be a great base for these really beautiful papers and chipboard pieces.

I started by taking the mechanism off the clock

I then chose my base page, and traced around the clock onto it and cut it out

To attach the paper to my page I used Stamperia Mixed Media Glue

Once dry I then gave it a layer Collage Medium to seal it

I then used Dusty Attic Stencil DA1757 Clockworks #2 and some Light and Fluffy texture paste on the background of the clock

I then heat dried the texture paste and gently applied some Prima Wax over the top

I then prepared the chipboard pieces that I needed for this project. From the DA2245 Twisted Iron #2 I just used 4 pieces off it to have as the marking points for 12 o'clock, 3 o'clock, 6 o'clock and 9 o'clock. The pieces were painted using Paperartsy paints and the Twisted Iron pieces also had some wax applied over the top. These pieces were then attached to the clock at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock using clear drying glue

I then fussy cut out the other elements that I wanted to use from the paper pack and attached to the clock using a combination of glue and foam tape, remembering to keep the height below the hands so that they are able to turn.

Once these was done I then attached the Mystic Flourish chipboard pieces to the clock using clear drying glue

All of the chipboard pieces can be purchased at https://dustyattic.com.au/shop/

Thank you for spending time with me again this month.
