PRECIOUS Moments - Adri Du Preez

Hello everyone!

Welcome to the blog today.

My August design team layout features beautiful Dusty Attic chipboard pieces.   This is a photo of my daughter and grandson.  This photo reflects so much love and happiness.

Here is my layout.

All the chippies were first primed with a layer of white gesso and then painted
with Americana Acrylic paint.

The Squiggly frame was left white and cut in half and glued between the paper layers.

I painted the title with Whispering Turquoise and Turquoise Blue and dry brushed with white acrylic paint.

The heart banners were painted with Peaches 'n Cream, Green Lagoon and Whispering Turquoise.

I painted Foliage #27 with  Whispering Turquoise and Turquoise Blue.

I also used my favorite Wordpl@y elements.

The butterflies were painted with Peaches 'n Cream and Coral.

After everything glued down I added splatters with diluted white gesso.

Dusty Attic products used.

Happy Together Card Set - Ankarika Craft

Hi there!

I'm delighted to show two bespoke cards today. Both are already pleasing the eyes of the bride and groom. The expectations of the client were not too complicated this time, I had to make sure it was stylish and elegant, 3D and with gold details. A pleasant assignment! Do you have your favourite kind of work? What kind of orders do you enjoy?

I used a beige DL base on which I layered, with space between each layer, a gold frame and on top of this a white decorative paper with a very delicate pattern from Margaret Paper Design. I embossed the paper with a fantastic embossing folder, and further accentuated the pattern by applying a delicate gold wax from Sizzix. The paper is cut along the long edge, and I've incorporated a delicate white lace where it is cut - can you see what a great effect such a simple procedure has had? Naturally, I couldn't resist machine-stitching all the edges here.

I made the large paper flower which is the central decorative element myself, additionally enriching the composition with tiny little flowers all around. The composition sits on elegant cardboard swirls from Dusty Attic. I also added wedding rings, but... just look at the end of the post for a photo of the whole cardboard pattern - it's seaweed with air bubbles, and I associated it with wedding rings... How good it is that in scrapbooking only our imagination limits us! I also used the extras that the aforementioned paper collection added to the set: butterflies, bride and groom and leaves.

On the design you will also see the words "Perfect Together", "Happy Love" and cute pebbles with the words "love" and "happiness".  Additionally printed: the date and the names of the bride and groom. In some places I added small white stones and some gold balls. Both cards have ribbon hang tags. They are personalised inside and in the photo you can look at a very simple solution for giving money. I hope this post has brought something to your life. ;)

Happy Birthday Card - Sneak Peek - Deb Stephens

Hello everyone! Today I am going to give you all a sneak peak at one of the new stencils the Boss Lady, Jen Hedger, has designed for us all. She has made quite a few that are fabulous so keep an eye out!
I made two simple cards using the new DA3588 Stencil and tried to show how stencils can be used in other ways, than just with paint and ink.
The first card, I traced onto smooth cardstock and then coloured in with coloured pencils. I then re-outlined with a black fine liner pen.
After that, I embossed a Mini Happy Birthday Sentiment from DA1337. I embossed some gold splats and then added a few foliage ephemera and matted onto black cardstock to complete the card.
The second card was super easy. I used the stencil to emboss with, through my Bigshot machine, instead of using an embossing folder.
I first used  a Distress Oxide pad in Black soot and rubbed it all over one side of the stencil. I them made my Bigshot sandwich of standard platform, cutting pad, the stencil (ink side up) the cardstock, a silicone pad, an impression pad and then a Shim. you may need to adjust how many shims you use according to your machine. I did 2 passes. You can see it worked from the pic below of the back of the card stock first.
Then the front:
I finished off with a few black soot spatters and another Happy Birthday sentiment to make this simple monochromatic card.
I hope this inspired you to get out your stencils and have a play. Until next time, take care!

Freeze Frame - Patricia Basson

Hello Crafty Friends...

Today I am sharing my page using again this photo that is near to my Heart of me and the Girls for Dusty Attic's Design Team Post...

I used two sheets of 49 & Market's Plum Grove - Blossom papers as well as several other items, Coral Stitched Frame, some Ephemera Bits and Plum Grove Laser Cut Elements. From the Vintage Artistry Naturalist Bookplates pack I used three Match Book pages that I distressed, folded and layered to resemble a book. I placed foam tape between the pages, this gave me lovely space to add all my flowers and different bits and pieces.

This post has a bit of a photo overload, but I just could not choose which photo to keep and which to cut! Hope you do enjoy it nevertheless...

I used clear Gesso on all the Dusty Chipboard pieces to prepare them for adding product on them. The Vintage Frame and Fancy Trim were embossed with Turkish Nights Embossing Glitter from WOW...The  color really suits the colors of the papers.  On the sentiment and the Three little Hearts, I used some Distress Crackle Paint. I also added some random Rub-on on the paper sheets.

The Swirls, Leaves, Decorative Frame and Ribbon Banner were firstly sprayed with Pumice Stone Distress Oxide Spray from Tim Holtz. When dry, I sprayed some Distressed Spray Stain, also Pumice Stone, on them. The Freeze Frame Mini Caption was colored with White Gold Metallique Wax from Finnabair.

I am adding these two photos to show the depth of the Book Pages before I added all the elements

I hope you made it to the end and enjoyed the photo's as much as I enjoyed creating this page. All of these chipboards are available in the Dusty Attic On-line Shop.
