Holidays are ending and with them the sweet laziness that has engulfed me in recent weeks. I suspect that most families have mastered the madness of school preparations and this is also the case with me. But.. Helo!.. It doesn't mean that nothing new is being created in my studio. On the contrary - I have a few recent projects waiting to be published. Today I present a card with the main motif of a vinyl record. The first time this idea came to my mind in February 2021, when I decided to make a 30cm x 30cm layout with the vinyl. This is one of my favourite projects, and from time to time I'm being asked if I can do something similar. Here it is - The 50th Wedding Anniversary card! What a fantastic number.. To me personally it seems like something unimaginably distant in time.
For this art work, I used Craft O'Clock papers, I treated the edges in "my own" way - sometimes I wonder when I get bored of hemming the paper... ;)) The customer asked for a card in golden colours, so I decided to combine gold with yellow and brown. I cut the vinyl disc motif with a Tattered Lace die, which has been serving me for a very long time and faithfully supports me each time. I used a gold sheet of paper with flecks of different colors - in my opinion it made the project wonderfully cheer up and added a bit of a party mood. I cut out all the circles three times and glued them together to obtain a rigid plate imitation. I put personalised inscriptions in the center.
An absolute eye-catcher is the brilliant shape of a
staff with notes and a sumptuous treble clef. I remember that I chose this shape at the very beginning of my cooperation with
Dusty Attic and I'm very happy that I finally had an opportunity to use it. The effect is naturally stunning. I secured all the chipboards used here with a white gesso from Finnabair and then applied a delicate layer of golden wax, also from Finnabair.
The lower part of the work is an impressive floral arrangement, quite layered and significantly stretched - I used beautiful
yellow flowers from 49 and Market and small leaves from the sets:
Botanic Mix #3 and
Botanic Mix #4. On the left side I added a white string accompanied by a magnificent bow made of wonderful Old Fashion Ribbons - and these I have recently brought to England and I already have them in my offer -
I cordially invite you to make orders. At the customer's request, there are two champagne glasses, cut from Marianne Design dies. The finishing touches this time are gold particles sprinkled in various places of the project and a film strip designed by Tim Holtz sticking out from under the flowers on the left side. The icing on the cake are two
cute butterflies and the
number 50 with the words
"Time to Celebrate".
I'm very pleased with this project, I was happy to do this order for a lovely couple of people living in Ireland. I will also tell you in secret that it is a gift from the marvellous lady for her lovely husband. 50 years together... This is the situation. :)
