RIP - Farrel Tailor

Happy Halloween Everyone!!!
Farrel here to share my Altered Coffin that I got my amazing husband to cut for me from MDF board. I have wanted to do a project like this for a few years now and I am so happy with how it turned out.

To start with I applied white gesso to the board and then added my stenciling using Stamperia crackle paste. I then added some stamping to the background using black archival ink.

I applied gesso to all my chipboard pieces and adhered them to the board. I used stone effect paste on the skull to give some texture.

I painted the whole board using Prima Liquid Acrylic paint and once dry I then applied Deco Art Antiquing Cream in Raw Umber. Then used a baby wipe to pull some of the colour back. I then used Lindy's Stamp Gang Magical Shakers in Black Forest Black to highlight areas.

To finish off the board I added some stamping to the Spider and bat

Some kind of Wonderful - Kristy Abela - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello again!! This one is a bit special today. I don't scrap myself usually, however I cut my hair short recently and was reminiscing about the "longer days". I know, first world problem!
So whether your winding down for fall or warming up in a sunburnt country I hope you enjoy the challenge.

I used Metallic paste to brighten up the background... All those earthy shades need not be dull! A little bling goes a long way.

I added some stamping in a Brown Archival ink.
I didn't want to over power the background with too much black.
I used a Black Archival for the cross hatch stamp.

I used Metallic paint on this chippy. Its one of my favourites as I can wrap the curls around my collage pieces. I did that on the flower below.

I have fallen in love with the transparencies too. They let all the beautiful work I put into my background peek through.

I used some pan pastels to highlight my Magnolias. I wanted to break up the contrasting Black and white with just a hint of colour.

And... with a delicate splash of gold over the final piece I am done.

Thanks for looking.... If you like what you see...

Create - Altered Pumpkins - Michelle Carrick

Good day my friends,

Today I'm back with a special
Two altered mixed media pumpkins
especially for the month of October!

Unfortunately, I was so excited about this project,
that I forgot to take a before photo! my bad!!!

I found metal art work pumpkins and
with that I used two different techniques!

For the first Pumpkin
I primed it with 3 lays, as the rusty metal kept coming through.
Then I applied alcohol inks - Butterscotch; sunshine yellow; espresso; origanum; Honeycomb; Sunset orange
and a touch of impasto paint!

Once dry
I added all the embellishments.
For the chippies I used gold All-Purpose ink as well as alcohol inks - Sunset Orange and Origanum.

For the second one:
I used Prima acrylic liquid paints.
Once again, I primed it with 3 lays,
as the rusty metal kept coming through.
I then added texture paste and painted with acrylic liquid paints-
Magenta; Tiger Orange; white and Avocado green.

Once dry i added all my embellishments.

Happy scrapping Ya'll!

Wedding Day - Anguree Van Rensburg - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello dear friends

I am back with you today sharing this layout I created for our October Moodboard.

I selected  this gorgeous background paper from the 13@rts, Grungy Walls Collellection and was inspired by the soft roses in the background.

Selecting my chipboard was easy from here. I just knew that I had to use this stunning Rose Cluster from our Dusty Attic Collection.

I don't know about you but I
absolutely adore these chipboard pieces. They are just perfect for adding a floral , but elegant look to any layout.

To add a bit of greenery I added a couple of leaves, which I painted with a mix of 13@rts Shiny Powder and paint.

To put the focus back on the photo and create a  balanced look I added a bit more than half of this stunning  chipboard doily.

Thank you so much for visiting us today. I hope you enjoyed your time here and will be visiting us again in the near future.

Till next time have fun and take care.

Remember Today - Julia Ostanovskaya - Mood Board inspiration

Hello dear friends!
The autumn colors of this month inspired me to create big mixmedia tag with window. I tried to ispire you with my mood and show how great it looks when you use the autumn themed Dusty Attic chipboard.
The frame itself, the window, the writing and the twigs are the core elements of my work today.
I hope you enjoy it!

Here I used:
