Hello Dear Blog Friends....
I often get asked how does one use and interpret a Moodboard....
A Moodboard should inspire you with its colours, Images and overall feeling ...You can take either all or some of the colours that inspire you, maybe an image speaks to you or some moodboards have phrases or titles that you can use.
As you will see with this month beautiful Dusty Attic board, we have soft Aqua looking colours and the beautiful waves and shoreline image. Now I have to admit that my canvas started out quite differently. I had tissue tape and lovely tissue paper on it all going for a beach theme...and then I changed direction and rather used the colours but went for a more industrial looking canvas!!! Just showing that you can really go where your Mojo leads you.
I also want you to see that there is all that extra chipboard that we should keep and utilise...Yes, I'm talking of the of-cuts / negatives that one tends to throw away! Not only are they perfect to use behind photos or embellishments to lift them, but some have the most amazing designs that can be used as well. Here I have used the of-cuts from the Industrial Corners and also the insides from the ATC frames. I embossed them with an embossing folder to add texture to them.

After adding the different tapes and changing my mind, I added a thick, rough layer of Plaster paste on the canvas. I stamped with a texture stamp to add texture and interest. I also added layers of embossed cutoffs and other chipboard elements. After a layer of Gesso and drying, I added my firsts layer of colour, A Bit o' Bubbly from Lindy's Stampgang.
The Industrial Corner was Gesso'd and sprayed with the same Spray. The wings of the Winged Keys got a rub of Mystic Turquoise Antique Wax. As for the rest I painted and sprayed with the following products. Matte Turquoise Paint and Pearl Turquoise Light Mist from 13Arts, Sassy Sapphire from Lindy's and Blue Green and Cool Grey Rust Effect Pastes. I also used Blue Light Fine Grained Grit from 13Arts in places.I used White Gold Metallique Wax to highlight certain areas.
The next 3 photos are just to show a little before all the mist and paints and elements were added.
I hope I have inspired you to also give the Moodboards a try.

The purpose of art
is washing the dust

off our souls.
