a day to REMEMBER - Adri Du Preez - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello Dusty FANattics!

Adri here with you today. I am sharing my first layout as a Dusty Attic designer and I feel very honoured to be part of this talented and creative team. This beautiful mood board is perfect for vacation photos, however, I decided to use the photos of my little grandson Janco I took on his christening day. I used lots of cogs and one of the great Impact Titles.

Today was a celebration of faith, life and hope for the future, a joyful celebration. Along with lots of love and pride on this very special day we all said a little prayer for this young life so innocent and new, that God will bless this little boy that means the world to us in a very special way, and keep this precious little life forever in the shelter of His care. As his Grandparents, we promise to help him, lead him, encourage him, and love him. 

Here is my layout.

To create the background I dabbed distress oxides on plastic packaging.  Spitz with water, fold in half, opened and randomly dabbed the plastic to the white cardstock background until I achieved the desired look. I used different shades of blues to match the mood board.  I then randomly stamped with a background stamp and word stamps.

Next step was to paint all the chipboard.  Here are some close-ups. 

I painted all the cogs as well as the title with dark blue acrylic paint and let it dry and then dabbed white, turquoise and gold acrylic paint with a sponge.

I coloured the edges of the Quoted Sentiment with a brown ink pad.

When everything was glued down I added some beads and made splatters with white gesso and black ink.
