Sun kissed - Belinda Spencer

Hello Dusty Attic fans!

Belinda here today to share my August layout featuring a lovely mix of NEW RELEASE and older chipboard pieces as well as a couple of awesome stencils.

'Sun Kissed'

I couldn't wait to use the new Sand Dollar and Starfish chippies so I just had to create a beach layout. I started by adding a lovely mint coloured mist to my background. Once dry, I added stencilling using two different stencils. Why stick to just one stencil when you create extra interest on your background by combining one or two or even more. I love the new Burlap stencil and it is quickly becoming one of my favourites. I started by swiping some texture paste over the Burlap stencil. I used it in three different places on the layout. I dried it with my heat gun before adding some more texture paste over the Confetti Stencil. This stencil is perfect for adding a bit of sea spray to your project. I dried this off with the heat gun too. I used a white paint pen (Posca) to highlight some of the circles from the Confetti stencil.

Here's a closer look at the stencilling.

Next I added my usual layers of co-ordinating patterned paper. Adding so many layers is such a great way to use up patterned paper scraps!

I painted all of the chipboard pieces with heavy white gesso. I gave them three coats to make sure they were lovely and crisp. White embellishments just seem to work so well with beach layouts I think.

I layered all of the chipboard and my photo next. It turned out to be quite a bulky layout but I love that. The more dimension the better I reckon.

Here's a closer look at all of the chipboard pieces.
