Always Together - Patricia Basson

It may be the end of the Financial Year but you still have time to enter the Mood Board challenge!
It doesn't close until Mid-night

This is a very special photo of me and Missy...Building fond memories while we still can... The colours and overall feeling of the Dusty Attic Mood board for this month just suited this photo so well. Loved the rich, muted colours and the laces. I used two off-white card stocks, distressed and punched the top one. Used Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Ink to chalk the edges and do some stamping.
For the background work I sprayed with Hickory Smoke and Pumice Stone Distress Spray Stain, Down the Rabbit Hole Lindy's Spray and Chalk Grey Mist from 13Arts. I did some stencil work using the Lace stencil from Dusty with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink. Also some Graphite Texture paste with the Distressed Diamond Stencil.

The Title and little Hearts from the Hearts attack Border were coloured with Antique Brilliance Waxes, Fire Ruby.

The frames were inked with Hickory Smoke Distress Oxide Inks. Then some Clear Crackle Varnish was added. After it dried, I added some Chalk Grey Mist and lastly a random rubbing with White Gold Metallique Wax. The lace, lace flowers and Gauss was also inked with 13 Arts Chalk Grey.

To mimic the Lace doily in the Photo, I used a wire Heart Doily from my stash that I altered using the Fire Ruby wax. I also took inspiration from the embossed Thimbles...I covered the Wings and inside of the Heart Frame with sticky Foil, embossed them with an embossing folder and rubbed Fire Ruby Wax on them. On the raised embossing I rubbed some of the White Gold Wax.

Please do visit the Dusty Attic Online Shop where these products and many newly added designs are available...Hope to see your creations with our Mood board challenge next month...Remember, there are two $50 Gift Vouchers to spend in the shop up for grabs!!!

I put down my book,
"The Meaning of Zen",
and see the cat smiling into her fur
as she delicately combs it with her rough pink tongue.
"Cat, I would lend you this book to study
but it appears you have already read it."
 She looks up
and gives me her full gaze.
"Don't be ridiculous,"
she purrs,
 "I wrote it."
