Shine - Lisa Gregory - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello my Dusty Attic Lovers!! One of my favorite parts of Dusty Attic is the Mood Board. It is the perfect platform to kick start your mojo!! Lisa here, to inspire you to grab those gorgeous colors or words and start creating. I started by mounting a piece of edge distressed  patterned paper to the Corrugated cardboard. Then I added another layer on top of that one and popped it up by adding cardboard in between the layers.

All of the chip board was painted with Dusty In Colour Sunburnt Orange. While it was still wet, I dabbed on some Cashmere using my fingertip. Once it dried, I glossed over it with a thick layer of  Dusty in Colour Clear Crackle Varnish. The thicker you apply the varnish the more pronounced your cracks will be.

I only used 1 piece of the Decorative Scroll in the set for my frame. I wanted a light delicate frame. I used Rangers distressed marmalade ink to enhance the papers under the frame to make the design pop. All of the flowers were colored using Lindy's Stamp Gang Sprays.

Here is a closeup of the Shine title. I did not use the crackle varnish on this piece. You can see the deep crackle in the other pieces.

I also placed cardboard under the framed photo to pop it up for dimension.

I really enjoyed working with this mood board. The colors are so deep and vibrant and I am really partial to orange. It use to be my least favorite color, and now I love it so much, that I even bought a Camaro in Inferno Orange. It is the same deep orange in the Moodboard...Sigh.......♥

Helena Johansson - New frames

Hi there! I recently got a gorgeous DT-pack from the boss ~ Jennifer ~ and I just fell in love with all the beautiful new whimsy frames she has designed. They are fantastic! And, perfect for both layouts and cards. I decided to make a few cards, and used quoted sentiments on a couple of them.

Here are all three cards:

This card was made after this months gorgeous moodboard. Love the bold colors (so not me, but I think I pulled it of?!). I painted the whimsy frames with Dusty in Color, Soot.

I used some black for this next card too, but also kept one frame and the sentiment raw. Added some brand new Dusty Attic bling too! And yes, you can spot some Dusty in Blooms, Evening Blush, there too.

The last card is more romantic, with lots of layers, doilies and soft colors. I kept all chippies raw, and finished this one off with some Dusty Attic pearls. Perfect!

Some close-ups:

And here are the Dusty Attic products I used for my cards:

Thank you for stopping by today!

xoxo

Real Life - Rajni Chawla - Mood Board Inspiration

Good morning all.

Here I am, Rajni Chawla from Passionately Curious back after a long break. Sorry for keeping you all waiting. Life is so boring and serious without Art. Flowers, Colours and Textures makes me happy. Today's project is my interpretation to July month"s mood board. I altered a simple cardboard frame for my handmade flowers and made a beautifully textured wall piece using Dusty Attic chippies, Various shades of Dusty in Colors and few metallic colors by prima.

July Mood Board

Here is the complete project.

The flowers are all handmade using supplies from Heartfelt Creations. I have used DA Ornate Frame #5 pieces from  DA Jumbo Cogs,  DA Cogs #1 and DA Cogs #2 to create different layers. All the chipboards were first primed with Heavy gesso and then textured using DA texture paste. Different shades of Dusty in Colour acrylic paints are used to paint all chipboards and then highlighted with prima metallic colors. the colours used are...Dusty in colour Bisque,  Dusty in Colour Oceania,  Dusty in colour Sunburnt Orange  and  Dusty in Colour Capri . The title " Real Life " is from DA Mini Captions #2.

Few more detailed pictures from different angles.

Steam Punk Mixed Media Cover - Marta Lapkowska (With Video Tutorial)

Hi everyone,
It's Marta Lapkowska here!
I am back to you with another mixed media piece share.
I need to admit that creating book covers is one of my most favourite ways of using chipboards.
Today is no different. I have some rusted journal cover tutorial for you.

I used my most favourite Script stencil and modeling paste from Dusty.

Additionally I added frame as my big focal point. Be sure to check frames in the shop as there is a huge choice!

As my final touches I added some shiny gems.

I love the colours and rust look of my piece. You will see how many colours and different mediums I have used to achieve this effect.
I hope you will enjoy this process video.

Hugs, Marta xx

Love This - Amy Voorthuis - Mood Board Inspiration

Love This! - Amy Voorthuis

Hello everyone.
I am so excited to show you my first layout that I made for this wonderful design team.
Did you see this months gorgeous mood board? My layout was inspired by the colors in that very same board. I also really like the phrase that was used in it so I incorporated that in my layout as well. For my layout I used all Maja Design papers and Petaloo flowers but also some of the amazing acrylic paints that Dusty Attic offers...I am a hugh addict on the rust paste's by Finnabair so I used them on all my chipboard pieces on this layout.

Love This:

To compliment the chipboard pieces I used here, I added some of the newer mechanicals metal embellishments mostly the hearts. The picture I used is on made back in 2010 during our vacation in Spain made by our son Kevin. Here I'll show you the mood board isn't it pretty.

Also I used some of the amazing stencils Dusty Attic has on this layout I used the Mini Heart Stencil and the Creative Script with the paste. I still feel like I am in seventh heaven being on this team. This is such a amazing mood board to be inspired by hopefully you are going to enter the challenge too.

I always print out my text on my computer on a piece of normal paper and later on I print it on the patterned piece of paper and then you can layer it on another paper like what I did here. Don't you just love the new tabs?

The Dusty Attic products used:
Mini Tabs #2 - DA1463
Mini Words #1 - DA0386
Creative Script Stencil - DA1494
Mini Heart Stencil - DA1472

Thank you so much for visiting the blog today and I would like to inform you I have a giveaway on my blog this moment. So if you visit my blog you will see how you can enter. I want to wish you a wonderful & sunny weekend lots of love.....
