Off the Page by Valia Katzaki

Hello Dusty Attic friends!

It's Valia Katzaki here today to show you another inspirational piece made with Dusty Attic products.

We always talk about the amazing Dusty Attic chipboard designs, but what about Dusty in Colour

DA has the most amazing shades of acrylic paints, that have amazing coverage and durability. So I thought I should dedicate one project solely to the acrylics, Yes, no chippies at all on this one, just luscious Dusty in Color acrylics! ;)

Another view. I primed my drawers with gesso and then I applied crackle paste and let it dry thoroughly overnight. I painted the base of the drawers with Dusty in Colour Navajo White and Alabaster leaving the crackled areas unpainted.

To paint the drawers, I made a wash of Raisin and Sugar Plum, i.e. I dilluted a small amount of colour in lots of water. I didnt want to cover the crackles, instead I wanted to highlight them. All the drawers were painted with a pea-sized blotch of paint! Talk about pigment, right?

I randomly stamped with brown stazon ink when everything was dry.

Ta dah! Ready!

A view from the top. The dilluted colors went inside the crackles and highlighted them beautifully.
