Message in a Bottle - Joanne Bain

Joanne here dropping in today sharing my latest creation created for the gorgeous new Dusty Attic February Mood Board Challenge. The challenge has an amazing prize of a $100 Dusty Attic Gift Voucher for the winner and to enter you simply need to use the Mood Board for Inspiration, you can interpret it anyway you like. The only requirement is that Dusty Attic chipboard is used in your creation. Once completed simply add your link to the right side bar of the Dusty Attic Blog.

So this is the February Mood Board.

Isn't it amazing!! Totally shabby!

And this is my interpretation.

'Dream Big'
'Message In A Bottle'

For the challenge this month I decided to alter a bottle and inside add a sweet little message for him. So its actually a message in a bottle.

I was inspired by the colouring and the shabbiness of the moodboard. The piece of driftwood perched on the chair is what inspired my beachy theme.

I added lots of dusty chippy, sea shells and cotton thread to my creation as I wanted it to have a beachy feel.

All of the chippy was painted with white gesso and then given a light mist of Luminarte Cool Water mica powder which I made into a mist. I added some micro beads to finish it off.

I created a base for my bottle to sit in by cutting a large cog in half. It was the perfect size for the bottle to fit in perfectly. I then added a fancy wrought iron piece to the front for something a little bit fancy.

Material List

DA0547 Wrought Iron Trim Set
DA1184Q Branch #4 small
DA0673W ATC Frame #1
