"Art Deco" ATC by Belinda Spencer
Hi everyone.
Hi everyone.
Here is my take on the current ATC challenge theme of "Art Deco".
I have used the leftover 'negative' chipboard from the Mini Arch Windows DA0804. I painted it with a couple of coats of Dusty In Colour Capri DA0915 and once dry, applied Viva Décor Croco Crackling Colour in White over the top.
I found the Art Deco image on the Art Deco Daily Facebook Page and the gorgeous turquoise feathers at Spotlight. :-)
Cheers
Belinda
Art Deco Fashion ATC by Mistra Hoolahan
Hi everyone! This month our ATC Theme at Dusty Attic is "Art Deco". I love Art Deco style, those smooth stylised lines and bold colours, all those fabulous things that encompass all that is the 20's/30's. I didn't have much in my stash that was perfectly art deco, these chippy pieces are a little more art noveau, but the image is perfect Art Deco, how fabulous is it!!
I have inked the base frame with black ink and painted the name plate with Mountain Meadow Paint then edged and highlighted with Liquid Gold Leaf and Black ink, then glossed it all up with Dusty's Clear Gloss Varnish.

First I had no clue what to do with this months ATC-theme "Art Deco", but after seeing some of the other DT-Girls ATC's I came up with this:
I have used papers from Graphic45 and a Gothic Window (DA0795) that I painted with three Dusty in Color shades - Soot (DA0925), Storm Cloud (DA0924) and Vintage Gold (DA0926). I have used a sponge to get the uneven pattern. Finally I used Clear Gloss Varnish (DA0901) on the whole window.
To decorate I have used a small Dusty in Bloom Wild Moss (DA0804) and cut-out flowers from a Graphic45 paper.

Here is my ATC for May. My lord, the Art Deco theme was the hardest so far!!!
'When I think of Art Deco, I am immediately inspired by contrasting colours and bold angular lines. The Nameplate #6 piece was just the shape I had in mind, and once I cut it up and added some gold paint, it was a perfect frame for the sentiment on my ATC''
