Give Love away - Tina Ollett

The title for this layout was taken from a beautiful beautiful quote I found in a big box of rub-ons this morning, one I had not heard of before. But it will be one that I use again one day soon.
It goes……
“Love wasn’t put in your heart to stay, love isn’t love until it’s given away”

For my scrapbook layout project here today I kept everything very clean indeed. I did a simple stamped border with embossing powders. Again as always I have added in some fussy cut elements from the Summertime (In the Garden) - Smell the roses patterned paper.

I had the photo printed of twice in two differing sizes and then layered them one on top of the other. I framed one photo with the Summertime (In the Garden) Die Cut frames.
The centre was cut from this and then used behind the back of my chipboard window. So cute!!

I have added in some gorgeous lace that has been cut up and layered sometimes 4 times over itself. Some of the lace was left a little distressed to keep with a shabby feel.

I have used lots of yummy Dusty Attic chipboards for this project. They were simply covered with Crackle Paste and coloured with China Black H2O's, and a little distress crackle and some Star Dust Stickles.

I used a Sizzix Die-Cut for my title "Love". I layered it up a couple of times and dressed similarly to the other chipboards but I left it a little darker so it could stand out on the page. I also added in some handmade accetates to add to the layout another layer.

Picture Perfect - Sanderijn De Bruin (Challenge inspiration)

Hi everybody!

I am here today to share my layout based on the moodboard for Dusty Attic challenge February

Even though I love the retro pics, and the soft pastel colors, you all know I have a hard time creating with those colors... It took me a while to get the result I wanted. But when I added the 49 And Market flowers, it finally came together, that was just what was missing!

I have used the sketch as a base, and worked from there. So it isn't exactly the sketch, but it comes near...

I painted the chipboard pieces with Dusty in colour paints, and as you can see, I cut the Ornate Frame in half so I could create another kind of composition with it.

I used the gorgeous Flower Power Stencil with light paste and golden mica powder to create my flowered background.

Dusty Attic products used:

Navajo white
Crushed Olive
Oceania
Mountain Meadow
Cashmere

Thank you for watching!

Love, Sanderijn

Amazing Moments - Joanne Bain

Hello!

Joanne here with you today to share a page I created using lots of Dusty chippy for my daughters formal album. I have kept it minimalistic with the main cluster focusing on her photo.

'Amazing Moments'

The base of the cluster started with the Love Heart Corners, before layering 2 ATC frames to create added depth. I then added a few snowflakes, they are great for adding interest to the page.

I added some metal screws to the centres of some of the snowflakes as well as the large butterfly.

I then added some cotton thread to add a little texture to the page.

February Mood Board

Life is Beautiful

I was inspired by the pretty pastel colours of the Mood Board as well as the roses from the typewriter pic and the script from the bicycle pic.

To create my background I have used the pretty Dusty Attic Love Circles Stencil with Dusty Attic Texture Paste.  Once dry I misted with Lindy's Starburst Mist in Cotton Candy.

How beautiful is the Floral Frame #1 chippie.  Instead of throwing away the inner chipboard section of the frame I decided to keep it in place but altered it with a coat of gesso, then embossed with Tinby Melts and the Mandala Stencil to create a lacy effect for my silhouetted photo. I masked the stencil with clear gel medium, then sprinkled with the Tinby Melts and heat set.

I cut the rose like flower from the frame, so that I could reposition it a little more to the side, then inked the frame with Pixie Dust Versamagic.

So as not to waste the pieces of the Spring Blooms #1 chippies that would have been under my layers, I cut them off and added them to amongst my layers.

To keep the layout soft and dreamy I coated most of my chipboard pieces with gesso and highlighted them with Lindy's Cotton Candy mist.

The Dusty Attic Clear Gloss Varnish is a fabulous way to adhere seed beads, prills and any item that you want to anchor securely.
