Journal cover - Vicky Alberto

Hi, Vicky blogging today to share an altered Dusty Attic journal. The Dusty journal was already a beautiful deep rose colour so I just enhanced it by adding some pearl texture paste in a script stencil as well as sponging gesso through a damask stencil. Next, I sprayed the entire surface with 2 pink and red mists. The mists nicely pooled around the script giving it a great shadow effect.

I then primed my chipboard accents with gesso and sprayed them with white pearl mist -- brand new ornate crosses (cut the ends to create top left hinges), a divine diva, an elegant flourish and a mini word were used. Some of the pieces were then slightly inked with light pink. The diva bodice and mini word were simply given a generous coat of diamond dust for extra texture and sparkle.

Ten Things I Love about you - Jen Burns

Hi everyone
I would like to share a layout I did of  Nicola.
She is My Big Boys Girlfriend (of over 3 years now)
I have to say how lucky I am that Michael has her in his
life and we have her in our family.

I started out with some texture paste and a stencil to add to the background. I gently dry brushed gesso over the top to make it whiter and brighter. I then covered the Dusty Attic Banners in papers along with the Love heart shapes on the
String of hearts frame set
(I cut the piece to make an oval shape to frame the photo)

I then added some border punched pieces along the sides of the photos and layered some papers under the banner and at the top of the page
I painted the String of Hearts frame and the Birds on a Branch piece with Dusty Attic's awesome paint Navajo White and distressed the edges using the edge of my blade.
I have moulded the chipboard to give it some shape

(seriously if you have not tried the paints you don't know what your missing - it is creamy and thick and easy to use and FAST drying)

I did the same with the little camera
(don't you just love that cute little bird in there ?)

The Journaling I have used the printer and added in
strips around the layout.

1) Your laugh, smile & quirkiness
2) That you are part of our family (my girl)
3) Your cheeky little ways
4) How much you love Michael
5) Your thoughtfulness and understanding
6)Your "Pink" style
7) You work hard and have goals for the future
8) That your my "Criminal Minds" buddy
9) A Dancing Queen extrodinare
10) How happy you always are (makes us all happy)

In short - I Love YOU xoxo

Daddy's Girl - Vicky Alberto - Sketch Inspiration

Hi Everyone,
Its Vicki here with a layout
I used the gorgeous JUNE Dusty Attic sketch as inspiration.

SO EASY TO ENTER

I decided to do something a little dramatic - black, taupe and coral... but then I softened it all up with distressing, mists and masking. Not my usual to use paint and goop on a layout - messy but a fun effect. This is a picture taken the day we brought our daughter home from the hospital.

Here is a peek at the background I created with gesso, Something Tattered stamps, a coral mist and of course some gorgeous chipboard.

Here is a close-up of the lace border chipboard that I splattered with Dusty Attic Black Soot paint and then sprayed with a coral mist (it soaks into the bare parts of the chipboard).

Photographs - Heather McMahon

Hi all,
Well I'm back from the Brisbane Expo all fired up and ready to scrap! I had a sensational time.
It's amazing how much of the expo is about meeting or catching up with the wonderful people in this industry. I had a blast!

My first commitment upon my return was my next Dusty Attic layout. There are a heap of new release designs and they're awesome! I had bought this sheet of paper a couple of weeks ago and it just spoke to me as soon as I saw it. I knew that I wanted to create a design with a strong horizontal effect but that's all I knew. The paper has it's own title - Photographs - and comes complete with a couple of gorgeous quotes about photography. So that decided what the photo should be!
I then started fiddling with the wonderful new chipboard designs. They are so cool! To my surprise, I really liked the way it all looked bare so I decided to leave it that way. I simply added some stitching, a small amount of stamping, some words from the bar code strip on the paper and a few flicks of Mountain Meadow Dusty in Colour paint. This is a very clean and simple page for me but I love it! I figure if I love the chipboard and the paper the way they are then why change them?
Here's my layout:

And some details.

Inspire - Heather Jacob

Hello and a very warm welcome to the Dusty Attic Blog
where you can find beautiful chipboard, blooms paints and more.

Today I am showcasing some more beauties.
I have created quite a graphic layout today
starring the stunning camera.

There are also other chippies , the large and small film strip, flourish and border strips.
one of my fave color combos are
Red, black and white .
this layout is Deep maroon red. black and off white.

INSPIRE

I used the offwhite for my background with random stamping , and softly inked around the border.
lots of fussy cutting and the photo I found on free printables .
Just perfect for this theme .

I layered the camera, black ink on the large camera, with mahogany on the small size.
I really like the look when chipboard is layered like this .

Vintage Treasure Canvas - Helena Johansson Sketch Inspiration

Today I have a canvas to share, featuring some of my fave Dusty Attic pieces -
the large Window with Shutters (DA0946) and the Vine Border (0459).
I have used the June sketch, made by Nadia Cannizzo:

For the background I have glued ripped pieces of patterned paper, used a stencil
(Donna Salazar's and Want2Scraps brick stencil), and misted with gold and green mists.

The Window (without the shutters) I painted white, inked a bit with gray ink and then embossed with white Mix'd Media Embossing powder.

I divided the Vine Border into three pieces, painted them white and then embossed the leaves with Mix'd Media embossing powder, color Leather.

Lots and lots of beautiful Petaloo flowers!

The title Vintage Memories (DA0871) I kept raw :)

Thank you for stopping by today!
xoxo
