Snapshot - Rosalie Duke-Stanley - Mood Board inspiration

What a beautiful fresh mood board palette to start 2019 with. It gave me a chance to create a layout for one of my holiday pictures when I was in Ilfracombe England.

I created the background by painting a layer of clear gesso and when dry dabbing with Tim Holtz distress Oxide - Tea Dye over the main area. Once dry, stencil around the page. Using an embossing stamp pad, dab over the stencil and sprinkle Tim Holtz Pumice Stone embossing powder. Heat gun to set. This will give the effect of sand. Include the area that will become the sky to add texture.

Prepare your chipboard. Sea grass pieces are covered in Finnabair Mint-green texture paste and paint with Mystique Malachite spray. Branches are covered in a mixture of Finnabair Graphite and Dusty texture paste. The wagon wheels and crooked fence are covered with the same mixture past of paste with more Graphite so that it is a darker colour. Dab Lindy Stamp Gang Magicals Screamin Banshee Black on the wagon wheels to add a hint of blue/black. Cobblestone chipboard pices as covered with Tim Holtz Gathered Twigs distress Oxide  and lightly sprayed to give a dapple look.

Gauze is prepared by adding Tim Holt distress Oxide Tea Dye to Finnabair clear Scultpure Medium, pull apart slightly to create holes in the gauze and set aside to dry.

Put together by adding your photo mat, add the gauze and when glued in place, paint Lindy Stamp Gang Van Dyke Sepia on the ridges, spray with water help spread colour. Add colour to the page for the sky by painting on Lindy Stamp Gang Whale Watch Blue, spray with water to create pools and allow to dry to give deeper colour in places. Layer all of the pieces and glue in place. To finish off, add art stones and paint them lightly with Lindy Stamp Gang Clam Bake Beige spray to take the whiteness off.

I hope you have enjoyed my layout and I would to hear your thoughts in the comments bar on my blog.
