Birthday card set - Patricia Basson

Hello Friends...

I am Happy to share these two cards with you as my Dusty Attic Design Team Project for the month.

I used plain cream Cardstock, distressed the edges with Hickory Smoke Distress Ink and layered them. I used two Dusty Stencils, Butterflight and Threaded Beads with Texture paste for the background.
I then used Rose Quartz and Fire Opal Color Glow from 13 Arts spritzed with water. I also inked with the Hickory Smoke and splattered with diluted white Gesso.

I used Chocolate Box Mega Gilding Flakes from Indigo Blue on the Balloons, Creative Script, Dripping of the Candle and the top of the Gingerbread Heart. After Gesso'ing the Candle and base of the Heart, I colored them with the same color glow.
I inked the two Titles with the Hickory Smoke Ink and embossed them with Kitsch Flamingo Distress Embossing Glaze.

Thank you for looking at my work this month...
You can find these and many more in the Dusty Attic On-line shop.

Ordinary moments - Karan Gerber

Hello Creative Friends and welcome back to my blog as i share a quick and easy layout using gears and the skeleton clock from Dusty Attic.

The photo is of my hubby taken at our beach last fall. I love this photo of him looking out into Lake Huron, but this is something we do almost everyday here in Northern Ontario.

I wanted to keep the layout simple, and masculine, so i used some gears and the skeleton clock. Adding some black gesso as my base then dabbing on some rust paste.

The Skelton Clock was altered the same way and i love how this simple, yet great masculine page turned out

The title, i just added some Buff acrylic paint to have it stand out a bit.

Thank you for dropping by and I hope you enjoyed my project share today.

Let's stay together forever - Patricia Basson - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello again to another Dusty Attic Moodboard project.
I found the Browns and Natural colors a pleasure to work with! And I had this perfect photo of me and Hubby to use on my page.

I used papers and cut-outs from 49 & Market, Journal Card and Airy from the Vintage Artistry Essentials Collection.

After I gesso'd the Chipboard, I painted all but the Gnome with a mixture of White Crackle Paste, Ivory Acrylic Paint from Stamperia and Sicak Yulaf from Cadence. I did not add a thick layer, only on the Hearts of the Frame set, therefor the crackle effect is very subtle in most places. It does show up nicely on the background where I used it through the Bedazzled Stencil.

I painted the trees with some Soft Suede from Deco Art and the Branches with Cinnamon Brown paint mixed with some Tiger Eye Color Glow from 13 Arts. I also used a paintbrush to flick some diluted gel medium on the trees and used Perissa Embossing Powder from WOW on it. It gives the effect of Sunshine speckles peeping through the leaves ...

On the close-ups you can see the thicker Crackle paste effect. I glued some of the Heart attack Border hearts on the big Hearts and sprayed them with Lindy's Stampgang Moon Shadow mist, Jolly Roger Red.

The cute little Gnome was painted with Soft Suede DecoArt Paint and parts with some of the Lindy's Spray. I also embossed with the WOW embossing Powder and double embossed the Beard with Vintage Beeswax Embossing from Emerald Greek. I'm just loving the rough texture this achieved.

On the Ivy Flourish I added some more highlight with Cinnamon Brown paint on top of the initial paints. Here I also embossed with the Perissa Embossing Powder.
I added a little piece of Anglaise Lace and a few small papery flowers as in the Moodboard.
Some Hand stitching, leaves and half Pearls on the punched edges add to the details of this page.

I hope I might have inspired you to try your hand at the Moodboard this month.

What is love?...
There is a strong wall about me to protect me:
It is built of the words you have said to me.
There are swords about me to keep me safe:
They are the kisses of your lips.
Before me goes a shield to guard me from harm:
It is the shadow of your arms between me and danger.
