Farm Fresh Eggs - Kerstin Filou

Welcome creative friends!

A friend of mine asked me for a sign for her house corridor.
In light, friendly colours to match to her french shabby chic style furniture.

I thought on a canvas with some awesome Dusty Attic chipboards and Maja Design papers,
 always a very good combination.

I used as border Chicken Wire Panel and some chipboard leftovers.

A white crackle paint together with a brown Distress Spray Stain were perfect for  a weathered look.

The foliage were primed with white Gesso and painted with some diluted acrylic paints.

Good Morning Dusty FANattics

Today I would like to share a layout of my Mum, Dad and myself using the 49 and Market Vintage Artistry collection in CORAL.   There is so much I can say about this photo, this is us now, we seem to make sure we take photos together whenever we can, I think we just wish we did this more often when my darling brother was alive. So people, take those photos, none of this "my hair is't done" or "I look fat", just get in there and be in photographs as well as taking them.
Okay, now I have given you my worldly advice just letting you know that
Dusty Attic have the Vintage Artistry and other 49 and Market lines on the website

I have used the string of Hearts at the top corners of the layout

Look at all those gorgeous Collage pieces layered with the heart frame.

All of my chipboard I have coloured with white except my title to make it "pop" I have used a green ink over the top

This small lace border is just perfect for under photographs, there is also a large version however I have used the Fancy Trim (#13) at the bottom of my page on the top of layered papers

I adore how this tropical foliage could also be used a feathers, again I have left it white to showcase all the fine details in the chipboard piece.

I hope you have enjoyed my page today, happy creating memory keepers.

Design Canvas - Kerstin Filou - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello creative friends!

Without question a hard time right now, but she has her good sides, too.
You have more time to read books and of course to be creative.

So I was inspired to make a mixed media canvas in vintage, grunge style suitable to the colours of our April Moodboard.

Hey Friends...
How are we all feeling with the Covid-19 Blues?
I stumbled upon this collection from Prima and hadn't touched it yet. How many of us have been using up some of that stuff we bought but have waited for a 'rainy day' or the perfect photo....Thought it was a perfect time to crack it open.

Thought I would turn it around and show you some close ups before I showed you how I created the elements.

I used the base sheet of tags and chose two the same size & selected some chippies. I began by using Distress Oxide to ink the edges of the cardstock.

I used some gold paint to decorate the crooked fence chipboard. I wanted to place some flowers behind the fence to create a 3D effect. Similar to how we all feel right now, looking at our neighbours and friends from behind our gates.

I primed the rest of the chipboard with some white Gesso and cut down the Roses to fit onto tags.

I cut some Die pieces in a Black cobblestone and also a tile panel in blue. I found some corresponding ephemera and created a collage on the tag.

Before I stuck it down I found some Wood Wool and used that under the roses to add a textured dimension. I went K.I.S.S. on the titles... Cant remember the last time I had used Black Embossing powder.

While I had the heat tool out... I used some of the fancy Lindy's powders to create a two toned Butterfly.

Once that was done I added some seed beads, confetti and gold glass glitter with matt gel medium to finish.

I used some matt wax in charcoal to grunge up the fence before deciding I was done.

Today's Memories - Tanya Cloete - Mood Board Inspiration

'Today's Memories are
Tomorrow's Treasures

Hello dear Dusty FANattics!
Love the colours of this months mood
board! They are GORGEOUS! Here is my  take on the April challenge.

Inspired by the these rich colours, I have created this Layout featuring lots
of beautiful Dusty Attic chipboard. I used a combination of three fabulous
Graphic 45 collections, Halloween in Wonderland, Communique and
Olde Curiosity Shoppe. I prepped my page with clear gesso and added
lots of texture with a stencil and texture paste. I coloured the background
with Finnabair metallique paints and waxes. I heat embossed some
of the chipboard pieces and title and the other chipboard pieces have  been painted with
Finnabair metallique paints.

To enter the Mood Board now all you have to do is add your entry in the comments section on the Dusty FANattics facebook page

Beautiful Life - Karan Gerber - Mood Board Inspiration

Hello Friends and welcome to my project today

Like many of you, i have found it difficult to sit down and create during these strange times we find ourselves in.  Upon reflection, it is times like these, that i feel,  we need to cherish our memories even more and that we should preserve these for years  to come.

I was going through and decluttering my home as we prepare for the next journey in our lives and i came across some old LP ( record albums)

I had seen these use as altered projects so i though i would attempt one.

After finding a photo of hubby and I from florida in 2014, i realised i had never scrapbooked this one, so here is my project for you today based on the Moodboard for April.

To enter the Mood Board is so easy now, just add your take on the Dusty FANattics Facebook Page in the comments section
HERE

I first had to prep the album (LP)  and i used black gesso and gave it a couple
coats and set it aside to dry.

I used the center of the Skeleton clock and heat embossed it with Seth Apters Baked Texture- Sand embossing powder. I did this for both skeleton clocks.
The mystic Flourish and title i embossed with white embossing powder. i had used this in another project so i had bits left over and tucked them throughout the flowers.

The corals and golds i took from the Moodboard for the month, and brought in that in the paper from 49 and Market - Serendipitous.

The background is the black from the Moodboard and mauves and purples are in the paper,

I hope i have inspired you for the Moodboard this month !

Other Materials: 49 and Market Serendipitous Paper collection; Little Birdie Crafts flowers; black gesso; Prima Stencil; snow paste; old LP record; Cosmic Shimmer Gilding Polish
